What's new with beds?
Posted: 08 / 03 / 23We have had an exciting update regarding beds at Ancol.
We are excited to announce that we are now filling most of our beds here in the UK, at the Ancol site in Walsall!
It is important for us to ensure our production process is as simple and environmentally effective as possible, so we have invested in a new state of the art fibre filling line. Our new machine allows us to blow, fill and pack our beds here in the UK and also reduces our environmental impact. By doing this it has saved us importing 20+ containers a year full of beds.
Our fibre filling line works by breaking down compacted bales of fibre, then rakes and aerates them to make them soft and comfortable.
These fibres are then blown into our dog beds, cushions and mattresses.
From there they are weighed and flat packed ready to be shipped out. By flat packing the beds, this means that they are easier to store as well as send out.
This new development means that all our UK-designed beds are now filled on-site by our talented team in Walsall, using 100% recycled fibre, highlighting our commitment to the environment.
We are excited to see what this new investment will mean for the future of beds at Ancol and we will continue to innovate, design and fill in this way while constantly assessing our processes and looking for ways in which we can improve.
