Toys to help your Pets Dental Health

Posted: 17 / 02 / 23

National Pet Dental month has been set up to make sure, us as owners, are aware of how vital our pets dental health is.

Pets don't brush their teeth twice a day like us so their teeth need attention. Dental checks are really important to prevent any oral problems that may appear. We prioritise their health so why not their teeth too.

Here are 9 of our favourite toys that can help with your pets dental health.

1. Jawables Cactus!
This cactus suctions to the floor to stop it moving around. This can be filled with treat paste, peanut butter or dog toothpaste. When your dog chews on the cactus it has little bumps on it to rub against their teeth and gums to help clean them, it has holes down the middle for the paste to come out. This is also makes a great boredom breaker.

2. Rope toys!

Rope toys are great as the strands floss your dogs teeth when they are playing. Rope toys are also great as the rope strands can massage your dogs gums which also can remove food particles that are stuck within their teeth. This reduces the chances of harmful bacteria or plaque forming on their teeth.

We have several different sizes, colours and thicknesses of rope. We have rope toys for every size of dog.

3. Fusion toys!

The fusion toys are made from hybrid technology, this means that they are light but tough material. These fusion toys have small grooves in that cleanse your dogs teeth making them a clever way to play and look after your dogs teeth!

These come in 3 differnet shapes!

4. Viva Treat Ball and Treat Triangle!

The treat ball and the treat triangle have openings with little 'teeth'. These toys are made from rubber and can be squished to open the 'teeth' for you to put in treats. When your dog bites on the ball to get the treats out, their teeth go into the 'teeth' on the ball. By doing this it is rubbing against the balls 'teeth' to cleanse the dogs gums and teeth.

5. Small Bite Soft Bones!

Small dogs can struggle playing with bigger toys. Our Small Bite Soft bones are great for smaller dogs to chew on. These are made from hybrid technology that makes them soft to the touch but is a hardy material and toy making it perfect to cleanse your dogs teeth. Puppies that are teething, this toys is great for them to chew on!

Cats front teeth are mainly used for grooming but they are also used for picking up food or moving small objects around.
They may groom their fur but they need our help to take care of them and their teeth too!

6. Catnip Bugs!

Our Catnip Bugs aren't just fun to play with. The catnip stick in our catnip bugs can be chewed on. By chewing on the catnip stick bark it can help to reduce tartar by naturally flossing their teeth which keeps your cat’s teeth and gums healthy.

Rabbit, guinea pigs, gerbils and hamster (and many other rodents) teeth are continually growing so they need checking and looking after to make sure their dental health is kept on top of to prevent overgrowing and any other dental problems that may arise.

8. Roll N Chew!

For rabbits and guinea pigs and other larger rodents, our Roll n Chew is a great one for this. It fits together into a ball shape and can be stuffed with hay, vegetables or treats for them to roll it around and chew on. By doing this they are grinding their teeth down as well as enjoy a tasty treat.
